The telecommunications industry: What was 2021 like and what is expected for 2022

Buenos Aires, December 20, 2021 – A year of great expectations for companies is coming to an end. Many were forced to change their strategies and focus on digital transformation. IFX Networks, an IT company and managed service provider that accompanied each business in the process, analyzed 2021 and established their expectations for 2022.

“This year was strongly marked by two factors: supporting companies in maintaining hybrid workspaces and providing information and data security. However, we’ve also been tasked with the challenge of helping our customers reduce technological gaps”, says Carlos Oviedo, IFX Networks’ Country Manager for Chile and Argentina.

The pandemic accelerated the digital transformation process. However, not every company thought of implementing long-term solutions which, in turn, created a whole new set of issues. For these companies, advisory is vital to show them what steps they need to follow to remain relevant amongst market competitors while making technological changes.

In 2021, IFX focused on continuing to strengthen end-to-end solutions: from connectivity to innovative solutions as part of the cloud portfolio, including security layers at all levels and tailored to each client’s needs.  IFX is aware that their customers’ concern is their business and that they require a technological partner that can provide proper assistance.

Additionally, this year IFX’s sales for secure connectivity solutions, SD-WAN and the cloud portfolio grew.  This proves that more and more companies are understanding the need to safeguard their connections between branches and for data transmission to be efficient and stable. Likewise, cloud migration processes show that companies are looking to always have information available and accessible while optimizing costs and having a more flexible and scalable service portfolio according to their requirements.

IFX also experimented internal growth.  During 2021, the company placed special focus on human capital and talent acquisition for all areas, given that its objective was to ensure agility, quality of service and personalized customer service.  This is mainly due to the positive results the company has achieved year after year as it continues to establish itself as the technological partner brands are looking for.

Additionally, in 2021 the company was named the No. 1 MSP in Latin America for the third time in a row and No. 19 worldwide in the prestigious 2021 Channel Futures MSP 501 ranking. “We were named an MSP industry leader with the highest of standards and best practices in growth and leadership which allow us to maximize value and customer experience through our solutions”, adds Oviedo.

The company’s expectations for 2022 are positive: IFX expects to grow 20% in terms of turnover and reach an organic investment of around USD $1 million since technology will continue to be key in industry development and process optimization. Consequently, IFX will continue to work on positioning itself as a technological partner capable of providing innovative solutions tailored to its clients’ needs and the best tools to support them in their growth process.
